What is Know Your Ws? Who created this Campaign?

Know Your Ws is a campaign created by the NC Department of Health and Human Services to remind people how to stay safe and flatten the curve during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NC Department of Health and Human Services wants to encourage people to understand that even though we might be physically apart, it is important for us to come together as a state and take action in order to protect ourselves and one another. The “Staying Apart Brings Us Together.” Also, they want to remind people to “Protect Your Family and Neighbors.”

How does Pitt County SADD teach its students to handle these issues?

The SADD chapters in Pitt County are doing their part to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We are promoting the prevention messages related to the 3 Ws on our SADD Facebook and Instagram accounts, and now that we are back in school, our SADD members are role modeling the Ws for their peers. Throughout the pandemic, Pitt County SADD has promoted positive messaging through our social media sites, and leaders have connected via zoom calls and other creative means. While at home, students participated in group activities such as painting kindness rocks that we delivered to our local Children's Hospital. In Pitt County, SADD chapters are looking for out-of-the box ways to promote health and wellness.
